Where is Urraween QLD?
The name Urraween comes from the Kabi term ngur/uin, meaning place of emus. Previously farmland and sugar cane fields, the modern gateway suburb situated adjacent to Pialba and Eli Waters is a very popular area. It has a large retirement housing component, residential, and some magnificent homes perched high on the hilltop ridges affording stunning coastal views.
The main reason the suburb is so popular as a residential location is that it is close to both Hervey Bay Hospitals, Stockland Shopping Centre, Aldi, Tafe College and several private schools in the southeast part of the suburb. Combining such convenience with close proximity to medical facilities, there has been substantial growth in the area with a high demand for both owner-occupied, retirees, and investment properties as increasing numbers of medical staff continue to move into the area.
Urraween is undoubtedly well suited to anyone wanting to live in a really nice suburb that is handy to everything; and still only ten minutes from the gorgeous Hervey Bay beaches.
Urraween Housing Estates
Urraween offers housing estates that predominantly have modern residential brick homes on small to medium-sized blocks that are perfect for the relaxed Hervey Bay lifestyle.
‘Highview Estate’ is described as a fast-growing residential area that ranks very highly for convenience, features extensive parkland, and has a nice range of three and four-bedroom homes built by well-respected builders in the area. Due to the neighbouring hospital precinct, retirees have found the area meets their needs very well. Medical personnel also appreciate the estate for being so close to their workplace and private schools for their children.
There are also larger properties, many with views further back along the ridge offering an urban-rural feel as they are built on 1/2 to one-acre allotments. You may like to check out neighbouring areas of Nikenbah, Eli Waters, and Pialba.
